So I was surfing my dealer's inventory and lo and behold, and '05 Mustang GT just like mine is on the list. I drive over to see it and the only difference is the interior color, which I like and was a close 2nd choice anyway. Everything else is a dead-on match. The dealer grabbed the keys, I sat in it, rev'd her, drooled a little and then he told me, "Now the vehicle you ordered was through the X-Plan. You can buy this vehicle but you won't get the X-Plan discount." So I asked how much for the one I was sitting in, you know, just for kicks.

$5,100 more than the one I ordered.

I think I'll wait (unless everybody wants to chip in a few bucks to help the cause. )

She sure did look pretty in the sunshine, though.

Absoloutely right to wait. Imagine the mods you could do with the 5K you saved - or the cool vacation you can go on.

I turned down a GT because the interior color was my second choice - and there wasn't even a price difference. Once the car gets here in a week or so, I'll forget there ever was a wait.

I’m just curios because I get X-plan through my employer. Could you tell me what MSRP, Invoice and your X-plan price is?

MSRP is usually 2k over invoice and xplan is plus or minus 200 invoice.

Yes I know the round about numbers. When I bought my F-150 my X-plan number was $190 under invoice and $5,500 under the MSRP. It all depends on the cost of the vehicle. So I was looking for hard numbers to see where the mustangs where at. He also mentioned that the non X-plan mustang he was looking at would have been $5,100 more so I was curious.

Wonder if it had a mark-up over msrp? Sounds like maybe 3000.

I'm getting mine for just under $26k. But the dealership has added up to an additional $3k to all GTs on the lot. The one I sat in was over $31k. Hence the $5,100.

See sig for details on the car. Price level is 515, ordered back in Dec.

Retail (MSRP) is $28,895
Dealer Inv. is $26,658
X-plan is $26,700
A/Z/D plan is $25,529

We are getting D-plan , my husband works at the dealership.

This is a fact Capital ford in Wilmington NC also wants $3000 over MSRP. I do hope that people let them keep them! :notnice:

I paid $500.00 over MSRP but it was for a GT Convertible. I paid extra but my car was released fro the factory and is on its way to my dealer. I ordered on Jan 25. For me paying an extra $500.00 was not a big deal considering I will have my car probably by the en of next week!!
