My wife and I went into a store and left the vert with to top down. We always do this and make sure to set the alarm and leave nothing out.

Some horses pahooty threw a half full 44 oz drink into the car. What a mess. We had to go back in the store and buy a roll of paper towels and glass cleaner.

I wish I could have caught whoever did it.

Perhaps it is better I didn't.

That does stink. I just hate jealous people. Could have been worse. A friend of mine left his vert top down once and came back to find 3 cigarettes on his front seat. All had burnt holes through the seat.

It is leather so It wasn't too bad. We found areas we had missed later. It really wiped out the console and the right side of the dash and passenger door.

I'm going to shampoo the carpets next weekend because there was a lot of pop on the right floor and seat.

Some people have no respect for someone elses property. :notnice:

Yea it could be worse.

It only takes a few minutes to put the top down so we are going to start locking it up when we leave it.

by big gulp I am guessing it was at a 7-11. most stores, including 7-11, have a lot of surveillance video usually, report it to the police as an act of vandalism, and ask to see if there is any video from the store. maybe you'll get lucky and see the person who did it.

Actually it was at an Albertson's. It was just faster to clean it and leave. They have survellance but I wasn't going to go through all the hoopla. They are just lucky this ex-Marine didn't catch them. They would have received some free dental work reserved exclusively for maggots and human debris.

The interesting thing is if I saw a car that I could never afford, owned by some pretensious jerk sitting in a parking lot being vandalyzed by some jealous POS I would probably beat him down, even if it wasnt my ride. People have no class, someone who randomly vandalyzes a car like that needs to be randomly beaten IMO.

I've had five convertible in San Diego since 1987. Once, someone slashed my top on my then one year old 90 5.0 LX Mustang. The knife went right through the pads and everything! It was violent, but thankfully they didn't muck up the paint or interior. I figured it was a crazed street person as I parked in a dark corner where I'd seen them before.....I know, a dumb place to park!

Vandalism can happen anywhere (Ontario even! ???) just be as vigilant as possible, keep your Karma in good standing, and hope for the best. Once in 25 years isn't too bad ;-)

I'm interested in how many people usually put there convert top up when they walk away. I'm about to get my first convert but always thought it was asking for trouble if you leave it down.

Sorry Dave, that really sucks!! People have no respect for other people's property anymore. It seems that if they can't have something, their first thought is to destroy someone elses.

What I don't understand is that this isn't a Ferrari. I love the Mustang but it is not what you would call a luxury car? Why does the Stang inspire this kind of reaction but a drop top benz will be left in pristine condition?

I live in Pensacola and leave mine down when it isn't raining. So far no stupid acts done yet. But after reading about the Big Gulp and cigerettes  . I am thinking twice.

I am hearing a lot of reports of vandalizm to the new Mustangs. Is there some sort of thing going on that it's now cool to trash the new Mustangs. I don't hear to much being done to the new GTO's and Chargers.

Is there that many people out there that hate these cars or hate the idea of someone else liking them?
I don't particularly like BMWs but I would never trash one.

I would like to know what kind of mind set would do these things.

I've ordered a new 2006 GT and I am getting very nervious about having it if people are just going to trash it when ever they get a chance.
