Fun to tick off folk. I just hope they don't turn off when you switch to brights.

So Please fill Arein Are These lights the high beam lights or the fog lights. Another question ? If the are high beam lights, are you able to change the angle to be used as fog lamps. They are really cool but would stink if never used if they are high beams . I rather slant them down just a bit ,use the all the time with out blinding people.

sounds like they are like the passing lamps on some of the harleys.., the ones you see with 3 headlights... once you go to high beam only the main light stays illuminated... unless you get creative with the wiring and johnny law wouldnt like that.

They will stay on if you "flash to pass" your brights, but go off if you click them full on. Have we seen one yet with them running without the headlights on yet?? Most fords will do that.

They will do nothing but light up fog in front of you. Fog lights are always amber.

They might even be worse for the fog as the light will be reflected off of the moisture particles in the fog.

Kev's correct, most fog lights are amber and placed as low as possible.

Most fog lights are amber?

Maybe the stuff you are buying at PepBoys for your Pinto!

Fog lamps primarily come in 2 colors, white and amber. Most factory fog lamps are white. I'm not sure why someone claimed that most factory fog lamps aren't "real".

Light ALWAYS relects and refracts off the moisture in fog. THAT IS HOW YOU CAN SEE FOG.

The theory behind fog lamps is to put a wide, thin, low beam to illuminate the road while minimizing the amount of light reflected back to the driver.

There are tradeoffs with the new Mustang's lighting position... the higher the beams are, the more you have to angle them down. On the positive side, as you crest a rise, your fog lamps won't be pointing to the sky. The downside is that you likely can't aim them out quite as far as a lower mounted lamp, if you want to avoid reflections.

Then again, to most people, fog lamps are a fashion statement. They turn them on all the time, as if to say "Look at me, I'm cool".

In the past the best fog lights were said to be amber, as yellow light has a longer wavelength and is therefore less likely to be reflected by the fog particles
And, as you said, their position will seriously deminish their functionality. Some people believe this is false and say that white and amber fog lights work just as well.

if you project light directly into the fog, it bounces off the fog droplets and reflects in all directions, making it even harder to see. That's why you use your low beams in fog rather than high beams.

Fog lights are low-mounted lights (bumper level or below) that project light that's cut off at the top. So the light pattern on a good-quality fog light goes straight out at bumper level and down, but not higher than that.

Fog tends to hover about 12-18 inches off the ground. So by projecting light in that fog-free pocket, you can illuminate the road a greater distance from your car and therefore see farther ahead.

As a result, the 05's fog light position is not go at all for seeing though the fog. And, as I stated in my post, will likely make things worse, even if aimed down. The point is to shine light under the fog, not through the fog.
