In my area, a guy runs a consignment lot where you can have your car and he does all the crap dealing with customers, etc. You pay a fee/commission to him for his trouble but it might be worth checking out - Selling cars is a PIA IMO!

 

Autotrader worked for me. Turns out that a guy who lives in the same neighborhood as I do bought the car. He saw it 2 years ago and has been waiting ever since, hoping it would be for sale one day. It's his now!

I'm gonna guess that was 2000 Mustang v6. How much did you get for it and how many miles did it had on it?

I would sell my Mustang if I get right offer. Othervise, its gonna be sitting in garage for the next 2 years (until my brother get license).

 

Mike you know I am going to do Autotrader for my BMW. My Honda sold in 2 days for about $1500 more than it was worth. Just keep in mind that no matter what you do, because of all the mods you put on the car, you ARE going to take a big hit on the money you put into the Honda. So just be prepared to start your old saying up..."Credit? Forget it! Everybody rides!"

 

I tried selling my '02 Mustang GT through Autotrader about a month ago, and there was absolutely no market for the car.

The car was coming off a lease (I owed some $ for excess miles), so I was trying to find someone to buy it directly from Ford Credit. The KBB value of the car was more than I owed Ford Credit to purchase it, so I thought I would be able to sell it to someone else (to avoid sales tax if I were to buy it) with no problem. I ended up lowering the price by $1,500 without one serious offer. I didn't even have one person come by to look at it. The car was in excellent condition too.

I decided to turn the car in at the end of the lease, pay the over-mileage charge, and I bought my '05 GT. All I can say is, it is a very tough used car market for sellers of last generation Mustangs, at least here in Southern California.

 

Same here !! I cancelled my 05 order for 2 reasons . 1st The IUP problem and I can't sell mt 95 cobra. I originally asked $11000 I'm now selling it for $8500.
I got a few calls but No bites. The car is sitting in my driveway with the plates off it. It's away for the winter. Try to sell it again in the spring.

 

Too many people are doing the same thing you all are doing...selling one mustang for another!
