Best size tire for 18" stock 64W Rims?
Just ordered some 18" 64W take off Rims. The stock tire size for this rim is 235/50/18. Is their a better size to go with...

I was thinking about 255/45/18 for my GT/CS. But all you will gain in width is about 3/4". I don't know if thats worth the $price, and the possibility of them scratching up your wheel when they change them.

I'm putting the 255's on my GT500 wheels (which are the factory size front tire for that car). Let me start by saying that there isn't much in terms of available brands. I prefer Bridgestone, Michelin, and Goodyear, and here is the availability for each:
Bridgestone RE040 or RE050: tread wear 140 [max performance summer]
Michelin Pilot Sport: tread wear 220 [max performance summer]
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S : tread wear 400 [ultra high performance all season]
Goodyear F1 supercar: tread wear 220 [max performance summer]
Pirelli P-Zero Nero M/S: tread wear 400 [ultra high performance all season]---same as factory 17" tires
ALL of these have AA and A for traction and temp, respectively.
Since I drive all highway, I got a set of the Pilot Sport A/S, since they will get the most mileage. Plus, I got them at a GREAT deal (less than half the cost of new, shipped)
I also found a set of Bridgestone S-03's (tread wear 220), that I am considering instead. but, they discontinued that tire, so I am a little unsure hesitant b/c if I blow one out, I have to get two new ones to get a matched set on the axle.
I dislike other brands, and the BFG tire seems really good, but I can't get over the look of the tread design.
Hope some of this info helps. I recommend the factory tire size, assuming that they have better availability of tires. Plus, I personally don't know if you can fit 255's on that width tire. Please, someone else chime in on that.

I put the G-Force KDW NT's fire pattern tread) in 255/45-18 on my Fanblades right after I got the car. I'm thinking about going up to 275's on the back when I need to replace them, just to add a little more beef back there (and grip, because it's still so easy to spin the tires). We'll see how that works out.
