There are pros and cons of each, and I wish there were more differentiation between the models. I don't like the grille or rocker panels on either. I like that the GT has the foglamps, but I don't like how they're executed. I like that the GT has dual exhaust and 17" wheels, and that the front bumper looks aggressive instead of smiling like on the V6, so my vote is for the GT.

The paper stuck on the driver side window LOOKS GREAT v6, wins :-)
All kidding aside I like the black rocker panel, and I like the pony gas cap on the V6 and I like the spinner wheel option. But that's no to say I don't love the look of the GT, they are like chosing between children, love them both.

The GTs are winning big time. Ford missed the guestimate on this early start. My dealer says not much interest in the 6 at this time, in fact they will dealer trade them for anything reasonable. I think that may pick up come spring time in the north. Any way my vote is for the GT.

I love the fogs, front fascia without a dent for license plate, dual exhaust.

Agreed. Unfortunately, where I am I have to have the front license plate. I wonder if I could get away with just putting it on the dash in the front windshield.
My state goes and spends our tax dollars legalizing "noodling" (fishing by hand w/o a pole OR even a shotgun!) but can't spend time to realize that the front plate isn't really needed.

Having both the GT and a V-6, I must admit that I have far more people take notice of my GT than when I have driven my Wifes V-6. I believe they are drawn to look at the rear by the dual exhaust ports, and from the front by the fogs in the grille. From my observation of their reactions, they prefer the looks of the GT over the V-6. Both models look nice, so it comes down to whichever model you prefer, or which will fit your budget. Some like the fogs, others don't. You can buy the V-6 and still have a great looking ride, without paying the extra $5K for the performance of the GT. My Wife's V-6 has plenty of power and her leather seats ride just as comfortable as the ones in my GT. I wouldn't be satisfied with the V-6 myself, so thats why I drive the GT. My wife on the other hand likes her V-6. It's all just a matter of what you want. My vote goes for the GT.

05 GT should have came with a scoop to help the un-trained eyes notice the GT

(I've already shown what happens when scoops go bad. Ugly Hood Scoops)

Rex,
They have about seven V-6's in stock, and not a one has the IUP. In fact I haven't seen any on any dealer inventories that have the Upgrade, and very few GT's have it. So guess we made the right decision in November to get the one in Chicago, rather than waiting. Oh, by the way, she's not home at the moment, so she doesn't even know I voted for the GT. I do like the color skirting and extra's on my GT better than the V-6. She does like my Bullits better, but such is life. You can't have everything you want, even though I try.

Rex,
Yah. The Beef-a-Roo still has the vintage era cars painted on it's outside wall to represent them being parked in the lot next to the building. I always did like that mural. Getting off topic here, so better return it to the forum.

Spoke to a salesman today and the reason he said there are so many GT's available in Ontario ( a province that has a population of over 12 million), is because everyone is requesting black .. heck, I saw 4 redfires at one dealership , 2 GT's and 2v6 and also 2 legend lime GT's on the same lot .. They havent sold any of these colors since they came in he said. But sold 3 blacks.
He said he tries to push em on another color but all people want is black..
hmmmm ..

Alot of people seem disenchanted with the large fog lights. I LOVE them, gives the car a little more retro agressive look IMO. Every new car from base models that cost around 9k all the way up have little fog lights down in the bumper, or have a recessed area to install some. The lights are bold and unique.
I was unaware the rocker pannels were black on the V-6 model, when I saw them at the dealer I was really supprised, looks as if they were an after thought. I actually thought maybe the dealership put them on to make more cash.
The knock off wheels look very cool, but knock offs just don't scream muscle, again my opinion.
The notch for the license plate again boggles my mind. It's like intentionaly there to make the car look less attractive, like the unpainted rocker pannels.
If I had no other alternative but to buy a V-6 version, I probably would have despite those few things that bother me, still a beautiful car. But, to me anyways, the GT steals the show.
I vote, GT

My vote is for the GT - you gotta love the dual exhaust and the front grille with the foglights.
