A similar thread ran back in late '04 or early '05 when many of us were patiently (?) waiting for our ponies. At that time Velvet Revolver was frequently mentioned, but not a single mention for them this time around. Did they turn out to be Chevy guys or something?

My personal favorites to run with (in no particular order):

The Beatles
Montgomery Gentry
The Rolling Stones
Bruuuuuuuce Springsteen
Toby Keith
John Mellencamp
Shooter Jennings

No Streisand, and show tunes??????????

Well, well, well! I guess the Mustang isn't for Metro-sexuals.

Sammy Hagar is good with the top down.

Let's see. I don't have mine yet, but I know what I'll put in it..

Black Crowes -- The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion & Live Recordings
Zep -- Physical Graffitti
Stones -- Sticky Fingers
Beatles -- everything past Revolver
Gov't Mule -- Live recordings, Dose
Wolfmother -- Wolfmother
Pearl Jam -- Peal Jam (I'm on a PJ kick)
Derek Trucks Band -- Songlines & Live show from the Coachhouse
SRV -- In Step, Texas Flood

Course I also have my iPod fully loaded w/40Gb of Live recordings and just about ever CD I own, so it'll be on random for some Time

How about "Animals" by Nickelback from their 2005 album All the Right Reasons? Go give it a listen and tell me that it at least doesn't put a smile on your face.

I can't believe that you guys left out clearly the best travelin' music of all time....Elvis' version of the Chuck Berry song - "Po' Boy in the Promised Land". Tommy Lee Jones had it on his 8-Track and popped it in when he put his LTD into light speed in "Men in Black".
