benefits of removing cats?

In Sound, performance and MPG. I have not decided to remove them yet, I am just looking for input, and please stay on the subject.

Thanks in advance.

I have an O/R H on my car, with Stingers, and it is extremly loud, but that is the way I like it. I didn't notice any negative gas mileage or positive, it roughly stayed the same. Performance wise I actually got the good seat of the pants feel. It feels to me like it accelerates quicker, I don't know if this is true, but that is what it feels like to me. Another benefit is being able to smell the unburnt gas, that is a great smell.

it should gain a deeper note, however way more faint with out a nice slp or borla stinger style setup not to disinclude others like flowmaster but they dont rumble as much

My '06 Twisted Mustang is cat-less it is loud on start up but settles down after 30 seconds. Don’t see any loss or gain in fuel mileage over my ’05 that has high flow cats. We are in the process of adding a Paxton air-to-air system to the ’05 car and will dyno it after the install we will see if it has more power than the ’06 which has a Vortec air to water system on it. The only difference between the two will be the ’06 has side exhaust and the ’05 has full length exhaust. I will re post here when were done.

Dyno test have proven that an o/r h-pipe are good for 8rwhp and 10rwtq gains at the peaks and accross the rpm band. Brenspeed did an independent dyno test comparing the pypes o/r h-pipe and the stock h-pipe. Here's the link http://www.mustangforums.com/m_799262/tm.htm

I have the Pypes o/r H-pipe with the factory mufflers and I am happy with the sound. I originally was going to do the mufflers at the same time and I decided to do the H-pipe first and I'm happy I did. Everyone has there own taste so I cant say what you'd like but I would recommend doing the pipe first and then if you still want it louder do the mufflers next.
