BBK long tube headers and off road x-pipe

I'm going to be the listed parts in a couple weeks and was wondering if a tune us absolutely necessary.

Running no cats will def require a tune. Mil eliminators may keep the light off but just get yourself a tuner instead.

Ok, would getting a catted x-pipe make a difference then? I don't have the cash for a tune right away...thats why I am asking. Thanks

Also, I know someone that has a tuner...should I take it to a tune shop or buy a custom tune and tune it myself?

I think that the mil eliminators are fairly cheap. You can always use those for now. Without the 02's reading correctly, you may lose performance. Mil elim. will make the PCM think that the cats are working. Won't be perfect but better than nothing.

I wouldn't run a significantly different exhaust profile, even with MIL eliminators, without a tune. Hold off on the install until you can afford a tune. An Xcal3 tuner with a custom tune runs a little less than $400 from Brenspeed or Bamatunes.
