I still have every piece of it from my '03.
I learned that after buying my '65 and wishing the past owners would have held on to at least some of it.
All I was left with was the front cover of the ownser's manual!
I'd like to prserve all that '03 paperwork (especially the window sticker) but it's hard to find acid free protectors that are large enough.
Any suggestions?

StangNut,

Someone mentioned on another thread that they had their window sticker lamenated at a Kinkos I believe. Don't recall the cost but shouldn't be too bad. Thought that was a good idea.

Yep $3 Million! IMO it was a pretty darn ugly car. 1954 Olds Corvette wanna be, gold color, convertible. But I digress....this is a Mustang forum. You can see it at some museum in Colorado soon.

I wish the new Mustangs had some rare options like some of the cars on that auction (read HemiCuda or RS/SS type pkg.). I don't think any 2005 will ever have any collector's value, even 40 years from now. Too many of them produced these days (unless IUP/MyColor gets axed), and they are all about the same.

What idiot would pay that much for an Olds, I can think of lot better ways to spend $3 million.

It would be nice if we had an upgrade package like the Z51 for the Vette.

The guy has bought like 5 cars so far. He's probably spent close to 5million at the auction so far.

I had mine laminated at Kinkos. Think it cost around $4. Defintely money well spent.

I agree. A 05 gt isn't going to fetch much money. But what about a 07 shelby. How many will be made? 5,000 maybe. Shelby will no longer be with us. So I could see those types of cars going for a pretty penny. or nickel.

It's very wise to hold onto the paperwork. I've always kept all sorts of literature and repair receipts from my cars (including brochures, pamphlets, comparison articles, etc.). It was a leftover habit from when I restored cars. At antique car shows, you got points for displaying original sales and promotional materials. And it always made for interesting conversations with the folks coming to the car shows. The only time I got rid of it was when I sold the car and moved onto the next project.

I did the Kinko's laminate on the window sticker and have kept all the cars paperwork in a file. It may not help with bringing huge bucks down the road, but when it comes to selling the car, it may add a few dollars or help with the sale. Wife thinks I am crazy though for keeping all this stuff, but I think its cool.

I called a similar copy store the other day asking about getting it done.
They had no idea whether the laminate they used was acid free or not.
Do you know if the Kinkos material is acid free?

You never know.
How many people thought a fox body would ever bring good money?
Not many since their sales numbers were so low.
A virgin, untouched, fully stock '87-'93 Fox body 5.0 with low miles brings some decent prices today.
Give them another 10 years and they'll be even more popular.
Another 20 and they'll be at Barrett-Jackson.
