As for snow, forget it. I'm keeping this baby for at least ten years and it shall see no salt. :nono:
My dad's '90 F-150 never saw an ounce of salt. When we sold it five years later (for a larger F-150), the underside looked as clean as when we'd ordered it. The exhaust was nice 'n shiny, as was the driveshaft - it still had the coloured rings around it. It was amazing.

I mean that is serious business you got going on there. I thought I was bad telling my kids they better have their bodys separating my car and their bikes when they take them out, but you solved the problem.

heck yeah, I baby mine. I have two cars, but I still drive the Stang no matter what the weather. I baby it in different ways. I'll bust out the quick detailer and small towel to wipe off crap all the time. I'm sure a look like a total tool when I come home from work the first thing I do when I get outta my car (in my apartment's parking lot) is bust out the detailer and towel...

Thats pretty smart to do but that wall looks like it would tip over easily. Wouldent want a bigger problem to happen

Guilty also. I baby mine pretty bad. I'm also fortunate enough to have another car ('03 330i) to drive daily so I can keep my GT clean and ready to go for a ride. I take very good care of my belongings, especially my cars. They are expensive and it just makes sense to help keep them in excellent condition. I cover my 330i at work every day, and get plenty of grief for that and for not driving the 'new car' daily. Whatever. Some people get it, and some don't. And I 'enjoy' my cars plenty.

I think it's supported from the ceiling?

I'm with the no drivey on ocky days.

I've got a '66 that I have had for 6 years and has never seen a drop of rain.
I do drive it and enjoy it. It is not a show car but near show car condition.
The guy I bought it from said he never had it in the rain once. You can tell.

The '05 will be the same. I don't drive it because thats what I choose to do.
It stays cleaner and maybe its an ego thing, I don't know.

Some people don't have the luxuary of having more than one car.
That leaves them with little choice and that is fine.
The car will be just as nice over the years if it is taken care of properly.

Tell us more about the wall, looks like a great idea. What is it made of?

I definitely do not drive my Stang on rainy days. Black cars are beautiful until they get dirty. That's why I kept my van. When Hurricane Ophelia was on her way to our area, one of our vendors even told me in no uncertain terms that I was to keep it in my garage until she was long gone.

Mine is supposed to be my nice weather car but it was at the dealer outside for three days last week and will be outside there three days this week also. I like the partition idea. I think I will seperate the third bay from the two car side when I put it away for the winter.

Ok, I'll confess too. Caroline don't like the rain. I'm a little more obsessive about this car than I have been with my others though. I work out of my house, so I don't drive all that much as it is and I have 4 cars (the 70 cougar currently doesn't run). My friends think I'm nuts for getting a brand new mustang since I don't drive very often, but I take her out just to drive, not because I have some place to go. I don't like to leave her in parking lots either unless the lot is sufficiently large that I can park a safe distance away. She stays nice and clean in my garage until I'm ready for a drive and I don't have to wash her all that often to keep her in top shape. I know, it's just a mustang, but it's *my* mustang.

I was asked again today at work where my new stang was and why i wasnt driving it. i replied and told them that it was raining and i had to car pool as well. i also have an 80mile r/t commute to work. my biggest fear is the gravel trucks i see on the road. there have been many times ive been pelted in my beater car, and im just relieved that it was on that car and not the stang. ill probably take the stang to work though on thursday to have it tinted. My friend thought i was nuts when i washed the car two days in a row. I look for any excuse to be around my car though. ive been going out to the garage just to look at the car and every other time ill go and wipe it down just to make sure that that first layer of dust doesnt settle on the car

That wall looks to be made out of standard modular furniture wall units. You can probably pick them up used for dirt cheap from any federal/state/local government auction or surplus sale.

From the current tally, it would appear that most of you are obsessive/compulsive (as am I) about keeping your car pristine. On the other hand, I bought the car to drive it, so I try to strike a balance between keeping it clean and ding-free as much as possible but try not to let my obsessive/compulsive nature keep me from enjoying it when the situation is less than perfect. It sure is fun to read how nuts we all are about our cars. But that's why I like this forum....it makes me feels a little more "normal" knowing you all are as nutty as me. Cheers.

I have to drive mine no matter what but... 320 ft/lbs + water = not good.

I think the car handles very well in the rain, snow was a di fferent story though.

Yeah but I'm seeing that ladder, rake, bicycle and who knows what else that could accidentally get bumped to fall onto the car. I've got that worry in my garage.

Boltzman, Love the wall divider, but as 6505pony suggested, you need one on the other wall. How about a retractable enclosure...kinda like the "Cones of silence" on "Get Smart". RIP Don Adams.

No matter where I am the mustang is parked away from all other vehicles. At work I have a whole row all to myself, it means I have farther to walk to the office door but so be it.

Yes we understand.
