Wow...can't wait till I get there. I'm on my first tank, and am getting 14...but I must admit, I'm still not really great with a manual tranny (lol wanna hear a funny story? My first time driving a stick on the street was when I took delivery...only stalled once on the way home :P ) Anyway, my mileage is steadily rising...we'll see where I get it to.

B) Got ours yesterday and don't know yet.
Mentioned this posting to my wife tonight as we were cruising the beach. Her response ..." Ask about gas mileage sometime next year... it's a dream GT pegging my fun meter right now." Gotta love em when they're right....

Thanks man! BTW, I just filled back up and reset my stats. Thus far I'm getting 15.6 MPG on only city driving.

I wish I could tell you. I have a 5 speed GT, but I am having so much fun with it, I don't even look at the gas mileage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amen to that! You want mileage? Buy an Insight. :notnice:

Not to knock your attempts to see if your car is OK Badandy Hope it doesn't see more dealer time than is necessary.

It is rated at 17/25 for a manual GT on the Ford website. What, exactly, does this mean? How do I have to drive it to get the minimum?

I bought a Mustang that was rated 17/25. I get 12-13 with no aggressive driving, commuting to work and back. I didn't buy this car for the fuel economy, but some things just seem borderline unacceptable.

17/25 means in the city you should get 17. On the highway you should get 25. Usually they are too high so subtract 2 from each. That is what we should be getting.

I am not mad really, but it would be nice to get 15 or 16 instead of 11.6

I am getting 9 mpg in the city with a manual. I drive it somewhat agressively but I still think this seems WAY to low.
