Aux input question, I know it's like beating a dead...

Hi, I'm new to this forum but I'm not new to forums. I know how to search and trust me I have but whatever I find doesn't answer my question or points to a link that's not valid.

So here goes my question:

I have a 2006 GT Convertible with the Shaker 500 head unit, is there or has anyone installed a cable to connect a mp3 player without using the PIE FRD04 adapter?

I tried using pins 1 2 and 9 10 but that didn't work, what am I missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Alex

Really and help would be great, someone's gotta know either way, the problem has been around for 7 years.

Thanks

Personally, I haven't heard of anything that worked reliably other than the PIE adapter. Most folks just choose to replace the Shaker.

I guess you guys are right, a new and better head unit would cost me about double what the adapter would cost and save me the headache of it going bad.

Thanks for the replies,
Alex
