autometer #2268?

will a 3/8 npt work in place of this part to mount the water temp sending unit in the block on 08 gt? autometer is metric but other threads for oil sending units is npt, stands to reason this plug would be a npt plug. i know it would have to be reduced to 1/8 npt for sending unit. just won't to make sure i have the right size when i pull the plug so i have the right size to place back in to minimize coolant loss. could possibly be a 1/4 npt plug, also hexagon size needed to get out.

never mind, just finished oil and water sending units. water jacket plug took a 3/8 npt with 1/8 npt brass plug, used permatex high temp thread sealant with ptfe, so far no leaks. oil sending units were a piece of **** to install, if i did it again or it starts leaking, i'm putting in the new sending unit in place of factory and ground out the factory wire to sending unit.
