How are you attaching your "Mustang" or other badges to this grille?

Got pictures of the badge and the attachment?

I'll be buying one next month and want to know what I'm getting into as far as the badge attachment.

Thanks!

I was thinking about that grille as we had one done up by a speedshop and looked much better then I thought it would. I think when my GT comes in I am going to do that grille with the Saleen HID's. What kind of emblem are you going to do? I really don't think it needs anything with two giant lights in the middle

I will probably just do a running pony emblem, with placement similar to this:

I just use the 2-sided tape that comes with the emblem. Its a tribar from the left fender off of the SN-95's. Haven't had a problem yet. The tape is pretty strong, and there is enough surface area to keep it attached. See the pic of my car below (its the blue one. The green is my friends car)

Burke, you will LOVE the look. When I had the KSR grill, I didn't have anything on it for a few days, while the emblem was on order. IMO, it just didn't look right without the tribar.

Have you ever washed at a high-pressure wash station? Will the adhesive hold up there?

You're just attaching it to the front edge of the honeycomb, then?

I'll post this again for those of you that haven't seen it. I think that the design is by a board member but I don't know who. This is a very effective way to mount your tri-bar and it's cheap. I had the two sided sticky tape but when the temps hit the 100's it started moving around.

That looks like it would work...does it keep the emblem mounted pretty rigidly?

Temps routinely get over 110* here in the Phoenix Valley during the summer, I doubt the adhesive backing would hold onto the grille for that

I'm already seeing my CDC rear panel trunk panel lifting a little after last summer...I'm thinking about having it removed and getting a body shop to just paint the trunk lid area between the taillights black....

I have had a mustang tri-bar attached to my SSE grille with 3M double edge tape since I received it Last summer.IT is still there and shows no signs of loosening regardless of temperature.

Hey Drew, I use my pressure washer at home when I wash my car. Haven't had a problem AT ALL!! The Adhesive holds up VERY WELL!

And about attaching it? Yep, I just push it on the grill, and it sticks.

You can get the emblem at any Ford parts department (most likely have to have it ordered in), or online.

For you guys who are worried about the 3M tape, you could always use the fasteners that are made to go on the pins. (assuming you get an old school emblem like the one in GRAYPNY's picture) See how he's drilled holes in the mounting bracket for the pins to go through? Just "fasten" the emblem to the plate.

Does the metal bracket come with the badge, or is it custom-made? I don't feel like custom-fabricating a bracket just to put a badge on

It's custom made.
The only one that I know of that comes with a mounting plate is the one from a '70 Mustang. It's the one CDC is selling with their new billet grilles.
