Does the lack of a dead pedal not drive anyone else crazy?

Storage for sunglasses, CDs, maps, etc. I really didn't notice it at first, but I just bought a Honda CRV (maybe I shouldn't admit that) and it's loaded with little cubby holes all over. You can have all kinds of junk hidden out of the way. My daughter's '04 Mustang doesn't have enough room to store a cigarette lighter (not that I'd need to, but hey). My '05 is getting built this week, but the ones I've sat in didn't seem to have room for anything other than my fat butt. Other than that, no complaints.

The wife was just telling me today she wished the centre console could be locked for when the top is down. Apperently the motion detector for the alarm doesn't work when the top is down either. Long before we seen pictures of the 05 I figured some kind of dvd navigation system would be an option. I know we would have used it a lot more than the MyColour.

It's a fake pedal off to the left of the other pedals to rest your left foot on and that Car and Driver, Road and Track, and most of the other car zines rant and rave about when it's not there or not placed just so-so for their tastes but which I have never used or cared about whether it existed or not in any car I've ever driven. Somehow my left foot has survived lo these many years by just gently placing it on the floor to the left of the live pedals.

I like dead pedals because when I am driving, there is nowhere to put my foot when on the highway other than to the left of the clutch. Without a dead pedal, the carpet will wear out quickly from the constant friction, and the floor mats don't go back that far or that high. I think they are quite nice. I just don't understand why they have been in every mustang for at least the last 11 years, but not on this one.

With the exception of the humer of hayburner I agree with all the rded improvements. As a matter of fact with hopefully some of those coming over time I might concider making another purchase, of course I won't be a hog and do it before everyone who is waiting gets there first one!

I'd also like to see a power passenger seat. My wife would really like a power passenger seat. We're both short. On rare occasions, she drives it and I sit in the passenger side. The seat is really too low for people our height.

First off, is one small note on the exterior. Doubt it will ever change, but the old mustangs all had a hump or hips if you will. I didn't really notice that it wasn't there as much until the convertibles came out. Then it is very noticeable.

That's something I was wondering... how the 05 would've looked with hips. I see that the new charger even has a decent set of hips. That's about all I like on it though.

KC Tim - just wanted to point out I wasn't criticizing your appreciation for dead pedals; just that they don't do anything for me.

1. Power Passenger Seat. I do not understand why anyone would think the passenger would not want a power seat too. The Seats look much better at matched height when possible.

2. Auto Dimming Mirror with Compass. Come on this is 2005.

3. Auto Head Lamps.

4. Dual Auto Temp Controls.

5. Heated Seats.

6. Optional Engine Horsepower.

7. UGE Package (exhaust). Why not have a good looking factory one.

Make these options and I'd bet more than 60% will opt to have these.

this is a hijacking - WHAT SECRET PANEL in the cupholder?

Oh and I agree
move the cupholders back & to towards the passenger seat
Raise the underside of the dash 1-1/2 inches on drivers side.
Put more power under the hood ....400 to match than darn GTO..
