ARGHH!!! Scuffed my wheel! DIY repair?

Like a big dufus, I was in a hurry this morning (and still kinda groggy) moving my car out of the driveway and then parallel parking it onto the curb when """scraaaaaape"!! ****!!! My right front wheel kissed the curb.
I just bought these wheels!!!
It's pretty minor, so I was wondering if there is a way to repair it myself. Perhaps sand down the rough edge and repaint? It's a AR Razor Silver painted wheel.
Being who I am, this is not something I can just live with, so either I figure out a way to fix it, or order a new one!
Here's a shot of the carnage..... :?

Ouch. I don't know about a DIY repair, but I had one repaired by a Ford shop one time for $150. When they were done, you couldn't tell it was ever damaged.

OUCH.... That's odd that it didn't appear to get much if any of the tire at all.

On a rim like that, just have it professionally repaired and chalk it up to an accident like a door ding or anything else. Your dealer probably already has an account with a person who fixes them, or you could check locally. Its a new budding business like paintless dent repair was 6 years ago, so they are out there.

I just got a quote of $100 to fix it. Does that sound reasonable? Still cheaper than a whole new wheel...

Yikes!! That sucks man. Yeah, I'd say 100 is fair and chalk it up to experience.
I was installing my shorty antenna the other day and buggered up the plastic piece that sits on the fender just total carelessness. Now I have to try to repair or replace if I decide I can't live with it.

$100 isn't bad at all. Should come up like new (again)!

Dammit, I hate curb rash. I got a couple of my Fanblades with that, but nothing too serious. I've been extra-careful with the GT500s, but I JUST scraped one of em a few weeks ago

Oh well, they're replicas so to replace the whole wheel is about 150$

It's worth $100 to have it fixed considering the scuff will bug you everytime you look at your car. It just kinda haunts you. The price we pay for loving our cars I guess.

oh yah, I'm gonna take care of it one way or another, and I decided it's worth the 100 bucks to me. Grrrr, nothing good ever happens when you're rushing

Man that sucks. I did the same to mine maybe a little more than that. I figured that I'd just have to buy a new rim. Good to know they can be repaired.

I had a local aftermarket wheel shop (Houston) repair curb rash on one of the custom wheels on my Lincoln LS. Did a good job and it was $100.

Wheels America does a great job in repairing wheels (I've used them in the past...super work) however you will have to send them your wheel. I noticed that you do not have the stock wheels, otherwise you could have purchased for $90 a nearly new take-offs...I bought one myself as a spare, because sooner or later you or someone else (like when you take the car in for repair) will scrape one of your wheels.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Yeah $100 sounds reasonable especially in Socal. I paid $90 for a dime sized dent that had no paint damage at all. It took the guy all of 5 minutes to get the dent out. 5min=$90 I need to get into the PDR buisness.
