AP Racing – Brake Kit Fitment Info

Hey there,

Once in a while, we are lucky enough to have the time to take some measurements on wheels for documentation purposes. Allows us to know ahead of time how the AP Racing brake kits will fit so we can update our system notes for future reference. Found out a couple of excellent pieces of information

First, for you GT500 owners, the AP Racing brake kits AP4100 (front 6 piston kit) and AP4150 (rear 4 piston kit) will work with the OEM GT500 wheels. This is important as it allows you to install an awesome braking system on all four corners without having to install new wheels on the car.

Second, for you non-GT500 Mustang owners, the AP Racing brake kits AP4400 (front 4 piston kit) and AP4150 (rear 4 piston kit) will work with the 18” OEM Fanblade Wheels – but not the 18” OEM Bullitt Wheels. Notes in our system show that both brake kits will worth with the 18” OEM Bullitt Wheel with the use of a 3mm spacer. These kits will also work for non-GT500 owners who have installed the OEM GT500 wheels on their Mustangs (as will the AP4100 kits).

As always though, we recommend that you still use the wheel fitment guide (which I can provide for you) to make 100% sure of wheel fitment prior to ordering a set of brakes.

Just a little background on AP Racing - as a point of reference, in 2006 alone, AP Racing brakes were chosen by the series winners in Formula One (Alonso), NASCAR Nextel Cup (Johnson), Busch Series (Harvick), Craftsman Trucks (Bodine), LeMans 24 Hours (Magnusson, Gavin & Beretta), LMP2 (Maassen & Lohr), GT1 (Gavin & Beretta), GT2 (Bergmeister), GrandAm GT (Lally), Daytona Prototype (Bergmeister), BTCC (Neal), DTM (Schneider), WTC (Priaulx), Australian V8 Supercars (Kelly), P-WRC (Al Attiyah), British Group N (Higgins), and more. Also, specialty manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Bugatti, Caterham, Holden HSV, Koenigsegg, Lotus, Noble, Spyker, TVR and more rely on AP Racing as the brake kits they install as standard equipment. Says something for sure.

As Always, please don’t hesitate to call (866-278-8287 x134) or E-Mail (PageN@Stillen.com) if there is anything I can do to help.

Thanks Much
