Anyone used these? Birds eye mirrors
I was wondering if anyone has used these mirrors. I was thinking they might be helpful if I block out my rear quarter windows.

Nope never seen them but they look like they would give me a headache, how they distort the view.
I use the mirrors out approach (I heard it called Rally Set somewhere) which takes some getting used to. I got my girl to do it once I started using it seeing how good it really works. Basically with the drivers side mirror you put your head against your window and move the mirror as far out until you can't see the rear. Then you move your head over to the right so that it's positioned in the middle of the car then move the passenger side mirror out until you can't see the rear as well. The all you have to do is just adjust your rear view as normal. So now when you scan your mirrors it should be one continuous view getting rid of your blind spots. I think I read somewhere it was called rally setting. Give it a try!

Thanks Michael, I'll have to try that. I had been debating getting some quarter window covers, but was concerned about the blind spot implications. My initial thought was to try to retro-fit some 2011 mirrors, but an option where I can avoid drilling is preferred, so maybe your suggestion will be just the thing.
those look pretty interesting...I think I could get used to them easy
I wonder if the middle 2/3 is flat, with the skewed viewing just at the outer edges(all you really need) or if the whole thing is curved? I did see some thin 'strip'-like domed mirrors at a parts store somewhere...I need to find something for or 65 galaxie passenger side- the mirrors are so tiny they were useless, I put a stick on convex mirror so I can see, but backing out of the garage from the lift, the reflection is so small its hard to watch for clearance (lift in the back of double deep garage with shelving along the one side...)
as for blindspots, I'd suggest sitting in a car with SHR louvers- visibility is great- the view might be a tad distorted as they arent as distortion free as glass maybe, but I'm looking for kids or cars, not reading the newspaper thru them
seriously, I didnt notice ANY change in visibility, even when driving the wifes car without them and getting back into mine...the view is fine.
biggest obstruction Ive noticed is her 07 has the low spoiler(dont really see it in the mirror), where my 06 has the 'wing' type, and it blocks quite a bit...

Tim, I'm thinking it might just be the outer portion that is curved. The reason I say that, is that I believe that is what they do for blind spot mirrors in Europe....whereas we have the inserts in the top outer corner. I sent a note over to the manufacturer as well, to see if they have a local store, since they are based here in Metro-Detroit. If I hear back, I'll let everyone know. I didn't see anything listed for the Galaxie, but they do make them for an assortment of vehicles, so maybe I just missed it. www.multivexmirrors.com
Oh, and in regards to the SHR louvers....I think those are wicked cool and thought about those, but actually for my vehicle I was actually looking at the ones on the Terlingua Mustang and those have zero visibility, so I'd need something on my side mirrors to help.

I had them on for a while , until till I got the Agent47 mirrors , and they worked pretty well. It does take a little time to adjust to using them , but once I did I liked them and wouldn't have gotten rid of them if I hadn't changed mirrors ...
thankyou for the link- yes on their page it says inner is normal, outer more curved...might be checking into those!
I see where the Terlingua quarter windows might need them now
thanks again!
