Sounds like they don't trust their trained chimps either.

I'd imagine eating a Mercedes or BMW engine is not an inexpensive proposition.

The Germans specify 10k mile oil change intervals... I don't recall them ever saying to change them at a certain time interval. I wonder why they don't do it the old fashioned way especially with such long service intervals.
