I like the Bullitt wheels I have, but am having second thoughts on the stock tires. Has anyone looked into replacing the tires and if so with which ones? I would like to get some thing a little wider and a better tread pattern (Not an all season tread) But I also do not want to get a tire that will mess up the speedo.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

I am "thinking" about replacing mine. Tire Rack is an excellent place to start. Checked out the Ultra High Performance/All Season tires to see what was available. From everything I have read in this formun and using the tire calculation, 255/50/17 seems to be one of the sizes alot of members are considering. Of course, the money issue will probably result in wearing the standard tires out. What r u thinking regarding size, etc?

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Best set of tires I have ever owned...put about 45k miles on my last set in my previous car, I drive pretty hard and they had plenty of tread left. Pricey but worth it, quiet and excellent grip for an A/S tire. Wet weather traction is amazing. Keeping factory size and wheel. Before those I had a set of Potenza s03's, they only lasted about 9k miles with the same driving habits and offered only a slight performance increase.

I put Kumho's on my Son's 1986 Mercury Capri, they had a great aggresive look (Tread wise) and pretty good dry traction.
Kumho was going to be my tire of choice for this car also (Can't beat the price!) So, they make them in the size I need?? I didn't check it out at Tire Rack yet (That's where I got my Son's Kumhos) I was just wondering what you all were doing.
Thanks!

is anyone thinking of lowering their car a bit to compensate for using a lower profile tire? i think the 05 looks great as is with 55's, but going down to a 45 or so may leave a lil' too much wheel well exposed. any thoughts on this?

There is a difference between tire treads looking cool and actually working well. Pzeronero is a very good overall tire. Instead of selling the set on ebay, keep them for winter. If you don't need them, get Michelin Pilot Sports on the new wheels. Otherwise just change em after they wear naturally. Khumo is a good tire for the money, but inferior in material makeup then the Pirelli's.
