Anyone Notice?
Interesting....okay I guess.
Reasons could be:
- to force more air into the radiator (which is why that lower insert is there as well) - most likely IMO
- to stiffen the grille to support the fogs
- to stiffen the grille as some of the honeycombs were cracking over time due to vibration.

Strengthen/channel
The V6 one seems to have the same filled spots, even sans fog lights.
Cut down on the ammount of stones flying into the rad.
I noticed my Mach1 grille added a new whack of speed holes

Question?
Is it more filled in for the part where the super fog lights go? Could that be a pic of a GT without the fogs attached?

I think its a rock/airflow/stiffness issue.
Hey good find...looking at the two grills close up,even besides the fogs lights they are different...look at the pony, the slot openings around the pony are in different postions from the GT and V6...from the center of the pony, there seems to be 10 slots on the V6 and only 9 on the GT
It is definitley an airflow issue
With a smaller opening area the speed at which the air goes through the opening increases, resulting in a higher heat transfer across the radiator
That is the same reason the added the lower filler panel, to force more air through the rad.
