Anyone know when the new Saleen's will be available for purchase? Any idea what the hp/tq will be? And Price?

Is that the unvieling?

 

I am a Saleen dealer and have been told that the S281 will begin production 11-1-04. I have been offered 8 cars for early 2005 delivery. S281SC will be available in early 2005.
I believe my Saleen rep said that they will not have a car at SEMA, and I will double check that. I guess we'll see when we get there.
Saleen is currently refusing to show us pictures of the car in order to keep it under raps. I have been invited to their facilities to view it in person. I may end up doing that if the car is not a t SEMA. Anyone want to go as my Rep?
I do not have the specs with me but I believe the standard package is about $13K over a base GT. Options include chrome wheels, big brakes, HID headlights and Saleen paint packages.
I will try to scan/post the info I have as soon as I can.

I am on Saleen.com right now & this is all it says:

"Sneak Peek!

The Awesome all-new 2005 Saleen S281s are about to make their world debut.

When? Sometime in October 2004.
Where? Someplace in California."

 

HID is something that should have been an option on the Mustang to begin with.

 

Nothing official, but there is always word of mouth. People who went to the Saleen show in Sept got to see the actual car and this is a direct quote from a guy in my car club who was there.

"The first cars out will be the NA cars, with the SC cars to follow after with around 400hp, after the SC cars the E version will be out with at least 500hp. Something really interesting, is that all the body parts will be direct bolt ons to factory locations, so no more drilling holes."

Still pretty vague, but that gives you a general idea. Pricing is anyone's guess, but since the base model didn't go up very much, I would think Saleen pricing will have a similar increase. Since there will be no Cobra competition for a while, I'm hoping Saleen won't jack up the SC price too much.

 

I work in Mission Viejo, about 5 min. south of Saleen. We see saleens all over the place here.

My cousin, who went to RSM High School, knew Molly Saleen (Steve's Daughter). She drove one of those Explorers with Saleen stuff on it. Anyway.....she was stuck up. I would be too if my Daddy made S7's for a living.

Anyway, yeah...if you are sending people out to Irvine. I am able and willing. Like I said, i am about 5 min. away...and could go at anytime.
