Have you tried John Bleakley Ford in Douglasville, GA? Granted, I get the x-plan but it was absolutely no hassle. If you're interested, ask for Glenn Rainwater. Dealership # is 770-941-9000. Tell him I referred you. Maybe, since he'll assume you know what deal I'm getting, he'll give a good price too. Don't be afraid to tell him what you've had the vehicle quoted for, but that you're looking for a good dealership.

Have you tried emailing each of those guys back stating MSRP and Invoice prices, and asking for their best deal?

If they think you know what is going on, they may drop the act.

Sounds like a few of them are fishing by responding with MSRP, though three of them are starting to deal.

Remember Long Lewis doesn't negotiate prices. I tried with my last Mustang I bought and they wouldn't budge. That is why their response was so short I guess!

Careful, EleanorsMine. Sometimes dealers will lowball a price to get you in the dealership, but they never plan on selling it to you that low.

Just something to watch out for.

I bet Buster Miles would pull that crap. They quoted you a "range"... WTF is that?? Even the highest price in their range seems like a decent price, but I bet they'd try to jack up the price once you stepped foot in there.

No kidding...

Long Lewis Hoover Alabama:
The current selling price of that exact Mustang is $20,030

Which is at best $1K less than the other she listed.

Just curious, when you add up your options on your own per the pricing sheet, what do you get as invoice and MSRP (I'm too lazy to do it myself )

Her Mustang has an invoice price of $19,758.

So it is possible to get the Mustang for $20,030. Whether or not Long Lewis will honor their non-binding e-mail price is anyone's guess.

***Edit***
Good point, Tom. I was thinking the same thing when I added up the price... something's missing, I thought to myself.

At least she has the sense to pay extra for the ABS brakes!

April,

Just get a fair price, buy the car and move on. Do you think customers shop your services the way we shop cars? Read my post under the salesman thread for more details. Not being harsh at all, just realistic. Factor in the driving time, cost of gas, etc, figure out the overall savings, if any, then go for it.

I think its 8%. I have honestly never thought of it when buying a car.
And the cheapie(Valley) is a little over an hour from me. The second cheapie is about 15 minutes.

Maybe this topic should be moved to the respective regional area boards? Just an idea.

This shows you that the car you ordered has been put into the Ford order bank and with the options you want. In a few days the dealer will receive a DORA "Dealer Order Received Acknowledgement" (or something like that) from Ford saying that they received the order.

Im fine moving this to SE.....Mods? Its technically 2005 Mustang SOUTHEAST specifically Alabama related.

CRAP!
Did I just order a mustang? She can't come home until March, and the dealer knew that. But the price is 2k cheaper than all but two of the others, and this one comes in below those too. The two hour drive will do nothing but give me fun times home.

Schneikes! It has a priority 11 on it!
