hello all,
i've been interested in getting my hands on a S197 gt stang since i lost my '88 5.0 lx coupe about a year ago. (stupid accident... glad to have walked away from that one) well anyway, been keeping tabs on the new mustang via forums and the like for a while. i went to a local dealer (stealer) and was quoted a ridiculous price for a minimally optioned '06 deluxe gt ($30k!!!). another place had a guy tell me if i can't pay, can't play... oh, well. just want to know if there is anyone out here from oahu (hawaii) who got a gt and got a good deal. otherwise, i may have to look elsewhere for my rear wheel drive / performance needs. i absolutely can't stand front wheel drive (i'd get a truck before that happens) and i'd rather walk than buy a honda the #1 accident causing vehicle down here! life is too short to drive a boring car. (and a car that is too exciting can shorten your life)

I ended up with an 05 V6 because I didn't want to pay the local markup or wait the 4-6 extra months for a car.
Of the 3 local dealers, Honolulu Ford is probably the lesser of the three evils (not by much though), but you may just want to buy in CA and ship yourself. (Around a $1K with Matson.)
Good luck.

If you opt to buy in California, call Teri from Mossy Ford in San Diego. THey will sell at MSRP. And I think if you mention that you are a TMS member, you may even get a $500 discount off of MSRP. Scan the boards here and you will find posts from Teri. Good luck.
