Trufiber GTS2 and adverse weather?

Aloha,
I was wondering what adverse effects weather has on engines regarding the heat extractors. My car has to sit outside and uncovered. Here on Oahu, it rains all year.

- Will water going through the heat extractors cause electrical problems?
- Will ultraviolet light glaring through the heat extractors cause premature deterioration of the rubber and plastic parts?
- I drive in the rain...Does steam vent out through the heat extractors under heavy rain (A lot of stop and go traffic here on Oahu)

- My engine (intake) is stock. Will the fuctional air outlet cause the driver's side of the hood to pop up? (85mph is the fastest I drive 'er, and rarely). It looks like the opening will be right over the stock intake housing.

- Where do the windshield washer nozzles go?

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Hey David, from what I can tell from my hood and others is that the hood extractors have a block which you can see in a picture below. So the vents are totally exposed.

I wouldn't worry about alot of sunlight going through the vents again, because of the plastic guards.

I dont really understand what your trying to ask here:

As for the nozzle relocation... Some of us bought the CDC kit, which doesn't care very many good reviews. Others have been working with their body shop to possibly one-off something. No real answer here.

Hope this helps some.

Joanathan, how do the little boxes under the extractors work?
Oh and I'm deleting the nozzles all together -for now
As far as the stock filter goes,I think it should be alright.

I'm concerned with rain as well. My car is a daily driver, rain or shine. How do rain, ram air and heat extractors get along?

Haha no idea. But I'll prolly have them painted black and maybe have a side cut out to make them "functional"

I'm thinking -leave the boxes on when washing car and take them off when done. It's only a couple of screws. Don't use my car as daily driver so I really dont worry about rain.
