I've seen other posts about it, you're not the only one. One of the people found something in their glovebox they forgot they put there... check there before you take it in

We have an annoying vibration between the leather shift boot and the plastic surrounding it. I've yet to solve that one. Fortunately the glove box one is not present on ours. Once in a great while I hear a high pitched (sounds like a dremel) metalic sound in the area just behind the center of the dash by the glass, but it only does it occasionally and doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason as to when/where it happens. I asked about it during my Shaker replacement visit and they told me to note driving conditions (rpm's, time of day, anything that might be useful) and on an oil change report back to them. The service manager said having that informatin can help them try to recreate the issue so they can address it.

Yup, I have an occasional rattle from somewhere behind the glove box. I also have a rattle from within the gauges that occurs every so often. I also have the aforementioned rubbing sound between the manual leather shift **** and the plastic surround (in 1st, 3rd and 5th gears).
The problem is that these sounds only occur occasionally, and never when I actually bring the car to the service department to have them looked at.

I noticed a rattle last week and it took me some time to find where it was coming from. It was really getting on my nerves. I tought at firs it came from the roof but then I found out the problem is the leather trimming of the shifter in 1st and 2nd gear. If I pull on the leather in some way I don't hear the rattle. Very annoying... And I don't want to sound too **** about it with my dealer.
Mine went away after I adjusted the documents in the glovebox and closed it again.
I think it was the zipper on the documents folder viabrating against the inside of the glovebox at certain rpm's
Hope this fix works for those with the rattle problem.
