Anyone have instructions for removing valve covers?

I think I am going to paint my valve covers tomorow, and I need some help. Does anyone have any directions to remove the valve covers? Does anyone have any tips to give me?

The direction say to discard old gaskets for the valve covers. Will I have to buy new ones, or can I reuse the old ones? If I have to buy new ones, where can I get them?

The gaskets should be in good enough shape that you can reuse them.

I have taken off three sets and reused the gasket each time with NP. There is an unused hole on the passenger side so don't freak like I did and think I had lost one.

Actually I tried to take out the passenger side, but I have trouble getting it out. I decided I would just leave them alone. It isn't as easy as it appears...I spent almost 3 hours and didn't get them out!

Did you follow the directions that were posted? You can have both of them out in 20 minutes. I did a full swap in under 1 hour and I work slow. What was the problem?

Just pull the battery out on the passenger side. It makes it so much easier. Don't give up, you can do it.

Jason, step AWAY FROM THE MUSTANG. Brad, we need to assign someone to go to Jason's house and remove his tools before something SERIOUS happens.

Oh good, rescue is on the way. I was starting to get worried about that poor Mustang undergoing a three hour valve cover swap out. Just messing with you Man. Do everything the posted instructions state (minus removing the coils) and all will be fine.

My engine now throws a code for the injector in cylinder 1. Does anyone know whats causing this?

LOL, the problem was that the instructions were for a V8, not a V6! lol, anyway, thanks for the support. I am going to try and install the mac shorty headers on Wednesday.
