Anyone have a fuel Pump go bad? the car dose not run.

my car has about 7500 miles on it. in the past 2 weeks the car has been back to the dealer
to have 2 fuel pumps put in. Now on Wed. on the freeway the car just stops running again
press the gas and the car dose no go. I get to the side of the road and the car will not start
so it was taken back to the dealer now for the 3rd. time. So we will see what they say this time.

Anyone have anything like this?

I feel your pain. I had the same thing happen. My gas gauge was reading half a tank when it was almost empty. Without gas in the tank to cool the stock fuel pump it burned up. Dealer claimed it was because I had a supercharger and a Kenne Bell boost a pump. They charged me to replaced the fuel pump and when they gave me the car back the gas gauge always shows empty, I keep thropwing PO463 code and the engine warning light is always on. Its going back in on Monday.

I am having problems with my fuel pump. Although I brought the issue to the dealer while the car was still under warranty, they could not reproduce the issue. Now it happens every week. There is a TSB out on the fuel pump but they will not replace mine unless I pay for it since it is no longer under warranty. I guess I will have to call Ford customer care.

Did you check the schraeder valves on the fuel rails to see if they were pressurized? Are you getting spark? On my OBDII '96 Ford Bronco Centurion I had the throttle position sensor go bad and the truck would crank but would not start. One minute I was driving and the next I was stuck on the side of the road. It was intermittent for about a week and then it failed permanently.

Just a thought

Also try the fuel pump reset procedure described in the owner's manual, takes 30 seconds, wouldn't hurt to check

Id say 3 pumps in 7500 mile is certainely not normal. You have another issue that keeps taking the pumps out. Fuel pumps generally last 150k miles.. as long as you don't keep running the tank try..

Just a thought this 10percent ethonal their putting in the gas is causing havic with the electrical connection in the fuel sender and pump unit if you get to see the pump look for corostion on the electrical connection. Something I have run into in the last 3 or 4 months?
