Thumbs up

Hey all-
Does any know how I can get the railcar number that my car is being shipped on. I have some friends that work for the railroad and are able to track cars.
It would be cool if I could track the travels of my car- if possible.

Thanks

You can get the rail car number from VOPC

hmmmm.... really?

I have had no luck with the VOPC. Everytime I go to enter the information it tells me " sorry no status on the information you provided". Maybe I have some numbers wrong. The body code for GT Prem is T82 right?

Per the site owner, do not discuss VOPC on the forum.

I think you have to wait till your car is actually built & then shipped via convey before you can find out the rail car number.

I can't imagine what you are feeling right now.

I've had my car on order for a whopping 2 days now and it is all I think about.

How do I get through the next few months?

This forum is the only thing helping me- and a custom motorcycle I just finished.
However, it still doesn't compare to our first stang on order. :bang:

Ask your dealer to talk to VOPC. They can get that information for you but your dealer needs to talk to someone and not use the automated system. Rail car information won't be available until it has actually been loaded.

Please keep us updated.
We'll do what we can once you tell us your car is on the train.

my dealer called and left a message with a number when my car was shipped.
i'm guessing ETTX000852387 is the Burlington Northern rail car.
haven't checked because I'm not sure how -- i didn't see anything on the BN site ...

Sad but true - been there, done that... You kind of get used to it after awhile. The forum definitely helps.

I wonder what people who don't really care about cars do with their spare time? B)

Now, once you get the railcar number, how is that possibly going to help you? Its going to get there the same time regardless of whether or not you have the number. Just don't worry so much and the time goes a lot faster.

Grantsdale- man relax a little. This is all in good fun. Of course I know my car will not be here any sooner. Follwing the whole process makes a good story.

Thank you all for the GREAT information. I will keep you posted.
Grantsdale have a good night and keep up the good monitoring!
