Just wondering if anyone has heard updates on financing for the new stang. I remember a while ago reading that Ford was planning on offering finance incentives at launch, but since then all on that front has been quiet. Since it is a dealbreaker for me if no good financing is available, I am wondering if anyone has heard news on the financing front. Personally, I am hoping for 3.9%x60mo. or better. Thanks in advance.

Crazyhorse, I'd do that as a last resort, but I think it would be a lot easier via Ford financing since I have a trade-in, etc. I could be wrong though, as I have never applied at a bank for a car loan when I had a car to trade in on the new one. I am not really sure how that process would work.

IF your credit is ok, nothing to worry about. The trade in still counts toward your loan amount. for example, if your car is worth $10k and you are buying a $25k car. When you apply at your bank, you ask to finance $15k on a $25k car. That is the same way it works at ford credit. They don't see the trade in, just the loan amt.
If incentives are offered, they usually give you a choice of rebates or special financing. Take the rebate and go to your bank for a better APR%.

3.9% would be sweet, my credit union is up to 4.49 for 60. Who knows though, with Bush getting the economy back on track, interest rates are only gonna go up. By the time March rolls around we might be over 5%.

I got my car loan last fall at Pentagon Federal Credit Union. Best rates by far at the time. Had to pay a small fee (it was either $10 or $25 - I don't remember) to join the "National Military Families Association" (whatever that is) in order to join PenFed and get the loan, but it was worth it. When I went to the dealership to pick up the car, the check from the credit union in the amount of my loan was sitting there waiting for me. Very smooth and easy.
