I haven’t notice any parking bumper stickers in any of the photos posted here, regrettably I will have to do when I get mine. Front and Back on the right side about 3”w x 2.5” h. Our campus police claim they will come right off using a hairdryer when you want to remove them. Any ideas?

Your campus requires stickers on the actual paint? I have never heard that, I have only seen them on the glass.

Yeah, I agree, put the sticker on the glass. If they say anything, you can then sue them for anguish or some such and pay for your tuition that way.

/Sue. It's the American Way. So the media tells me.

The first school I went to placed them on the left rear window, second school used a plastic card that hung from the rear view window. Stickers on paint a no no. :nono:

Unless they want to re-paint your car, no stickers on the paint.
Put them on the glass and worry about it when they have a problem with it

They have to be on the bumper??? I would check w/campus police and see if you can't get away with front and back windshield. I have to get my faculty/staff permit this week and I really don't want to. I even tried talking the chief into just letting me use one of the temp. permits that hang from the rearview mirror since a few of the coaches have gotten away with that, but he said as much as he hated to make me do it I had to. Oh well, I'm still getting away with no front plate I guess I can live with a sticker on the windshield.

The DoD requires decals on the front windshield, definitely no way getting around that one.

DoD != campus ...

My thoughts on the matter: Put them on the glass. You are paying to go to the school, they won't do anything to you if you have them somewhere (visible) on your car. heck, I doubt they would do anything even if you didn't. They'll get to know that there is an 05 Stang in the parking lot really quickly anyway.

Yeah DoD stickers on the windows are a pain. I placed mine on the plastic (02 Mustang) below my window. Hopefully that won't cause any damage or any thing. I just figured it'd be easier to get off or cheaper to replace if I had to.

Yes; they have to be on the bumpers. They made this rule because of the snow we get here; even a light dusting will cover the windows. I don't know what they do on the few special days we get every year when snow is deeper than the bumpers. I had a real visceral reaction to putting them on the Windstar, I can’t imagine how I will feel when I sticker our Mustang when the time comes.

I have been thinking of making a “L” bracket that attaches under the bumper somehow, but I’m not sure how that will work.

When you speak to someone in person about this, have them sign and date a letter that they are to remove the stickers and are responsible for any repairs needed.
Go up the ladder as far as you can, before you lose the bumper.

Actually the DoD stickers come off the glass real easy with a razor blade, doesn't leave any residue on the glass.

not sure if it's any better, but you might try putting your DoD decals on a vinyl bumper sticker, then cutting the sticker to fit.

thats what I was thinking. Get a U bracket that attaches under the bumber...and comes arround and up. Attach the sticker/decal to that. Also, to make sure no one steals it. put a tiny lock where the u bracket attaches behind/under he bumper.

I know it might be a pain to take it on and off, but if it were my stang...I would do ANYTHING it took to NOT put a sticker on my paint.

I think its funny that your campus police is too lazy to walk up to the car and dust off the lower part of the windshield to check for a decal.

Buy some magnetic sign material. Cut it to fit the sticker. Put a magnet behind the area to be "stuck" and stick the magnatic sticker to the car.

Just do not tell anyone it is magnatized to the car. If the sign material is thin enough and of the proper color, it should not look like a magnatic sticker at all. I have seen real thin magnatic material used in phone book ads that you take and put on your refrigerater.

Dtoups, this is an add on to your idea with a diferent material.

Only problem is the bumper cover and rear fascia are plastic. A magnet won't stick. May work on the back if you put it on the trunk portion, but definitely not on the front.

No, you glue/tape/affix a magnet or piece of metal on the inside of the bumper cover, and then use the magnet thingy on the area that covers on the outside. See?

Ok. Now I still say if they insist on it, you can sue, and get your tuition paid for for emotional damages or something. See all the pain and suffering you're going through now?

I'm TELLIN' yous!!!

I agree with some of the others...get a scrap of vinyl from a sign shop (they should be able to drag some out of the trash for you, or just cut off a small piece for nothing), put the sticker on that, and put that on your bumper.

The easiest way to get the vinyl off later is with a heat gun and a little plastic chisel. I ran into problems once while doing this, on a Dodge truck...the paint started coming off, too. Never had a problem on Fords or Chevys though.
