Hey guys,
I just wanted to share this little story with ya!!
I'm a manager for a national chain restaurant that has a huge bar with tons of tvs. It was yesturday(sunday). The bar was full of customers watching the NY giants game. We have the game piped in over the sound system so the audio is very loud. All of a sudden the anthem commercial came on. Man that comercial grabbed everyones attention and when it was over I stood back( goose bumps to boot) A big smile came across my face as I watched a lot of people pointing at the tv and talking about the mustang. I guess ford has done it's job.
The commercial stopped everyone with what they were doing and talking about!

Know what you mean, I was in the dinning room just getting ready to eat, and the TV was on in the living room to the game. Heard the roar of the muffler and jumped up from the table to see what was going on......my wife yelled is that the mustang commercial.

Well it was and let me tell you it did grab me.

Ford should be proud with the way they are going about advertising this car, should be a big money maker. Now all I have to do is wait until spring for my vert.

I had the Vikings/Packers game on my exterior speakers yesterday while actually washing my stang, and heard the start of the commercial... went running inside to cath the last three quarters of it. Got goosebumps too. Getting them now as I type this, actually. I still haven't seen the Cornfield one on tv... just on the web. Anyone seen it yet?

no joke, I was at my firestation yesterday watching the football games, and I went 2 blocks down the road to the nearby pizza shot to grab a cheesesteak, and just as I pulled up, everyone inside the restaraunt and outside it was staring at the new Mustang and as I walked in, they had the same football game up on the tv and the first commercial up was the Anthem Commercial, my face lit up with a big smile and everyone's attention was with a jaw drop, soon afterthat commercial was finished, everyone was surrounding my car, it was insane......

I was in Hooter's with the wife(what a girl! ) watching the Falcons/Bucs game and it came on. I was grinning ear to ear. People were looking and listening...it was awesome.
She said "you're just eatin' that up aren't you?" my reply..."heck yeah!"

Normally I yell "Mustang!" for a Mustang commercial and everyone comes running. When 'Anthem' came on, I was speechless. I didn't yell, I didn't do anything. Just sat there and watched. Not a word, until the end. And all I could say was, "wow."

I have yet to see the anthem commercial here in the Portland market. Only the Cornfield, Short Cornfield, and the new Ford 05 lineup commercials.

She loves Hooter's(mainly the Buffalo Shrimp), I'm not one to argue and fight about not letting her have her way.
heck, she'll even point out a girls' features if she is "stacked" or "got back"
Like I said, what a girl!!

That Garfield guy will complain that the anthem is outdated and kids wont understand what it is(then again public schooled children may NOT know what it is).

For those of you still trying to catch either spot on TV:

(Please note that December is tentative, so there may be some minor changes to this schedule, but this is the plan right now.)

(And this is only 60-second versions. 30-second versions of Cornfield will be running as well, but it's a more random placement process, so I can't easily outline it for you.)

November:
Nov 20 - NBC - NASCAR Homestead Race - 2-5pm - Cornfield
Nov 21 - ESPN - NFL - 8:30-11:30p - Cornfield
Nov 21 - NBC - American Dreams (with special 5-minute Mustang short story) - Cornfield
Nov 21 - NBC - NASCAR Homestead - 1-4:30p - Anthem
Nov 25 - FOX - NFL - 1-4p - Anthem

I saw the Cornfield one for the first time Tuesday night while watching NYPD Blue on ABC. Pretty sure it was the long version. Have yet to see the Anthem.

Anthem commercial teared up my eyes. I hadn't seen or heard of it before I saw it during last week's Nextel cup race at Darlington.

Patriotism and Mustangs. It will make a grown man cry (well a red state grown man)

Pheh... Not in the anthem commerical and its revisionist history!

lessee according to this commerical mustangs were produced from 64 to 78 and not again till 05!

I assume the savy advert types concluded that the FOX cars lacked any sort of visual heritage compared to the current and past models and conviently ignored probably one of the most important generation of mustangs to hit the road.

The FOX cars are the tri-fives and 69 camaro's of thier day. Talk about past glory all you want, but when you tally the numbers, FOX cars are the grunts in the trench.

Sorry to say those were the years they were drawing upon to inspire buyers. Fox was just built and nothing in the interior or exterior of this car draws upon the fox. I don't care how many sold it had been around for 25 years and its time for the next platform to bloom.

Still a slap in the face. One can argue that a bit of FOX can be seen in the wheel arches and rear flanks but anyways.

When I think mustang those are first cars to pop in my mind. A nice LX with off-road pipe and some 2 chamber flows with a set of pony wheels or some drag-lites. Then maybe an 03 Cobra in all its uber-charged glory then when one of my geriatric buddies starts talking about mustangs its a 70 mach followed by a 68 fastback then a 66 shelby.
