Folks,

I recall reading somewhere in the forums that if you buy a car via X-Plan then the dealer cannot charge you any "dealer fees". However, my search to confirm or deny this info was less than successful.

First off, is this true? And secondly, is this the same thing as a "doc fee" or "documentary fee"? The reason I ask is that my dealer did include a $295 Documentary Fee on my X-Plan GT and I was wondering if I should push back on it or not. I hate to hand over the extra money when it could go to good use like Xpel, etc. BTW, the car is still C/U and probably won't be here until who knows when, so I'd like to get this cleared up earlier rather than later .

Thanks for the info!

Rob

Rob,

I'm pretty sure you can find the answer in the FAQ. I believe the answer is they cannot add things like advertising fees.

I only have my VOC to go from, but looks like only charges above x-plan are Destination&Delivery, 2 gal. of gas, and FDAF Assessment. I am pretty sure someone else explained that FDAF was Ford's advertising charge. Interestingly on my VOC the charge is only $245, so maybe that is not the same thing you're asking about.

Lee,

That's just the info I was looking for. It doesn't get any more official than that. Thanks!
