x-plan is for friends and family of ford employees and some companies offer xplan as a partnership with ford, you need a pin # from ford and that is going to allow the dealer to order your car with x-plan pricing which is +/- $100 of invoice price (price dealer pays for car)

it allows you to wait 4-7 months for your car to be built and delivered

The X-plan discount can be great ( got a $1200 discount on my V6 ), but best to sell your trade-in first because from what I've seen, dealers will knock that discount right off your trade-in and it's a wash.
For a straight sale with a down payment, it's a good thing though.
When I asked about the $1200 below KBB trade vaule on my old car, they said " You pay blue book for our car and we'll give you blue book for yours ". Also, couldn't find any dealers that would do the X-Plan on a GT because they sell so fast anyway; participation from the dealer is totally voluntary.
