Another one bites the dust...
Well exactly 2 weeks of owning the car, a moron has attacked my car.
I was at a red light minding my own business and this dumb girl doesn't know how to apply brakes and rear ends me.
The left side of my rear bumper is ok but my right side is totalled. It's her fault and the insurance company will pay for it, with my $200 deductible of course.
Anyway, I am going to take it to the Ford dealer tomorrow, to possibly see if they could do it for me, if not im taking it to the local body shop.
Also, I noticed about 1 hour after the accident, my Tire Pressure Monitoring System came on and it says my tires have low pressure, but my tires are at the standard psi.
Any ideas?
Could the Monitoring System come on becuase of the hit in the rear?

Do not pass go or pay the $200 until you know exactly what will be fixed and who is paying for it.
You WILL get screwed if her insurance handles it.

I think if your caught without insurance, your car should be towed away on the spot! To get it back you should have to PROVE you have insurance with a receipt of at least 6 months premium paid!!!
Some states do tow yor car if you don't have ins. but not sure exactly which ones!!

Agree on letting your ins co handle it. First thing I did the next day was contact my Ins co. You should be able to get estimates, take the cash and have it repaired where ever you want... Hmmm CS/ Shelby rear end?
Also have it completely checked out by the dealer for any hidden damage, Ie: TPMS, door alignment, etc.
One thing I have noticed on the forum.. all of the cars that have been wrecked are by fault of someone else not our own ( either that or no one is admitting to it) which makes me think the brotherhood of TMS members are safe drivers Gee is it because we take pride in our cars? I think so. Watch out for the other guy.

Definitely work it through your insurance. They might subtract your deductible from their settlement, but you should get that back from the other driver's insurance. I'm sure they'll call you at some time to get "your side of what happened", then probably offer you the deductible.
Anything else they pay will be to your insurance company. But let them handle it, that's their job.
And they'll be sure to go after the other driver and/or their insurance, too.

I'm dealing with somebody that hit me and supposedly has no insurance because she did not have permission to drive her brothers car. As of now I am out of my $500 deductible and my car is in the bodyshop with $11,000 worth of damage. My insurance company is still fighting the other insurance company trying to get their $11,000 and my $500 deductible back. Also ... my rental car is due back next week since my insurance company only gives me 30 days ... if the other insurance company was paying I would get it as long as my car was in the shop. Good Luck ...

I will have pics up by the end of the weekend...
Wentz' Body Shop in Lehighton, PA estiamted the damage at $650...
They take it in on the 31st of July, they will have it for 2 - 3 days.
After that, im taking it straight to the dealer just to make sure everything else is alright mechanically and all that good stuff.
Thanks for all the help fellow TMSers.
