it also looks like the black bottom grille was just added in before production.
if you look at the pic with the guy, you can see the body color "slats" going up and down, with nothing behind it.
that's just like the pre-production models, and might be a cool mod.

Nice, no distortion of the passenger area
Yes, it's pretty impressive that the windshield wasn't even cracked. I remember hearing that Ford brought in Volvo engineers to consult on the '05's safety systems. Looks like they know their stuff.

Another few feet and they could have tested the SAFER Barriers!

We knew that before. It has always been a snap-on cover, you can easily remove it even on production models.

It looks like it was at one of those Ford driving events.
B) Interesting crumple zone. Appears minimal transition to main body and chassis. Looks like the safety team did a pretty good job

Now I can see why the Ford guy who was riding with me at the LA Innovation drive wanted me to have both the hands on the wheel.
I started of wit one hand on the wheel and other on the stick, he immediately went like, both hands on the wheels please this is only a 2nd gear course.
Not that I am a dumb like this guy who wrecked it, but I can see why they would want to be careful.

That's look just like my car. But I have mine, phew.

I bet that other black GT in the pictures is depressed, his girlfriend just got a bad nose job.

I just happened to run into this post while searching for something else. I can guarantee you that this is not a photochop.....I was there that day for the event and this accident happened just as I had pulled back in after my drive.

I even have a picture of the car before it was wrecked. I took a picture of the one that I drove and that red one was like one or two cars ahead of it. No more that 1 minute after my picture, the guy wrecked it. I did not take pics because my camera phone stinks for distance shots.

The guy driving it never let off of the gas while going around a small bend in the course. He lost control and still never let off the gas. Hence he slammed into the wall. He and the instructor were ok though....not a scratch....they both walked away.

Nice to know they can take a hit like that and folks walk away. No side bags on that one I guess. I think the photochop comment was talking about that other guys avitar.

yeah, the avatar pic is from the SEMA car show, if memory serves - its a "Galpin" mustang. they centered the fog lights a la Shelby, added very nice stripes and wheels, and had a few other mods. check it out in the pics section
