Skorch52 is correct. I just searched on the web and found there was an aluminum dash insert available in '67 on deluxe models. I stand corrected. The aluminum does complete the retro-package.

Still, not to my taste. Again, you be happy with your selection and I will be with mine.

Regards,

FC

I guess I am the minority. The pictures don't look too good, but MAYBE in person will it will look better.

Only about 36 days before we all start getting to look at the new Mustang.

I have to say I like it! I'm just worried about keeping it cleaned!!! From owning many polished alum. wheels over the years...I have to say to keep them clean bites! Hopefully it has a clear coat on it so it would be easy to spray and wipe. Otherwise if it is real aluminum, time to break out the polish.

I do not like the aluminum trim panel. Also, the interior dashboard greatly resembles a 1967-1968 one(at least the instrumentation layout does). Seems unusual to place this piece on the dashboard when the prototype, which Ford went to such extent to duplicate, did not have one.
I believe Ford offered a deluxe interior option in 67 that did include an aluminum dash trim. Personally I like it. [/b][/quote]
Yeah, I believe my step-dad had one.

Has anyone seen the pedal yet? I like the pedals on the 04 IUP.

Considering the design of this dash I like it. It's the entire dash that I'm not the biggest fan of (yet). I loooooove the SN95 dash design. It may be poor quality materials, rattle and squeek, but I love it to death B)

That's, "purty".

And looks good. If you're worried about scratches, don't put your feet up on it!

I hated the SN95 dash. I looked into getting a 04 Mach 1, but when I sat in it I thought man this as ugly as the 95 I had. Each to his own though.

If you see the interior with the IUP in person, you wouldn't dream of not getting it. It just finishes the interior off extremely well.

pedals = negative from what we've seen...No alum. pedals this go.
However it doesn't mean in the future we won't see them.
Man..I cringe, as I know what a pain they were to add after the fact on my car

As for the dash...don't forget its ribbed as well...and not a solid aluminum strip. blinding won't be an issue.

If you don't want it you can always opt out of the IUP, but you lose 2 gauges and MyColor....

What gauges are lost?

You keep the temp and fuel level (I think those are mandatory for all cars)

you lose oil pressure and engine voltage, those become dummy lights

It would be sweeter if I was in the driver seat and looking down a long empty highway. :drive:

The Aluminum dash is a must. High tech+ retro look. Just watch how any auto mfgs will copy it! Its about time that the interiors had a little tasteful glitz, they have been bland for too long. Now if only they would add colors, so darn tired of gray and beige. Lets get out of the ugly 90's style mode. Looks like Ford wants to. Go Ford!!

The brushed aluminum won't be any harder to clean, keep clean, or protect from scratches than any normal plastic surface. It's not technically a sheet of aluminum, after all.

The dash has grown on me. I wonder if I can get aftermarket bare feet pedals just like the sixties and seventies.
