I want to replace the door sill plate on the driver's side ( to many scratches in the aluminum). Does anyone have any advice as to how these sill plates are removed.
Thanks,
Ray

I had to remove these to do some wiring. On the inside edge they just clip in so you just pull up on the inside edge to pop them loose. The outside part right under the aluminum sill plate they are held down by a sticky strip. Just careful pull up from the inside and they will come lose. I little heat applied will a hair dryer my help to loosen the sticky also. Just go slow and apply even pressure when pulling up on the plastic trim. I do not know if you can purchase the aluminum piece separate from the plastic sill plate.
Ray:
The aluminum sill plates with the word mustang are simply glued to the plastic sill cover.
All you need to do is pull off the aluminum trim piece and then clean off the residue glue and you would have the same look as the non IUP sill covers which would be the plastic cover without the aluminum trim.
The plastic cover does have the same version of mustang printed on it.
