I wonder if it's like Chevy's 'Dark Grey Metallic'?

Ford already has a Dark Stone Metallic on their SUVs and pickups. They have Carbon Metallic listed as one of the colors for the upcoming Ford Edge. So, I would assume that it would be close to one of those colors.

Could be another version of DSG.

Interesting, Lexus has a similiar sounding color, don't know the name but it is a very metallic version of black. If it's anything like that it would look sharp on a stang. is that supposed to be an 07 color? Also interesting that there calling it Alloy. I would have thought it would be a lighter color.........

You guys could spend all day trying to figure out which color it looks like. Toyota, Ford, GM, Honda, Nissan, Chrysler, and all the other have some sort of Grey/silver. You'll never figure out which color it's closest to. And when you do end up think we've narrowed it down to an exact color, you'll be way off.

Check out Ford's T7 paint code on newer vehicles (below). It could be a hint.
2006 Lincoln Zephyr = Charcoal Beige
2007 Explorer Sport Trac = Dark Stone

I've seen the charcoal beige on a Mercury Mariner and it is a nice color. However, it is definitely brown so I doubt that that one is it.
My father-in-law's '06 Explorer Eddie Baurer is Dark Stone and it too is a nice color. I think you may have something there because it does look like a raw piece of steel. Dark grey and sort of "cold" if you will.
I would definitely put the Dark Stone on the short list for my '07 GT if that's the color. If Alloy Grey turns out to be too silver it's off the list.

Actually, that speculation was short lived.
If darkstone is paint code T7, then according to our 05stangkc in this thread http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?s=...ndpost&p=564889
Alloy Grey is G5.
