Compared to a 1965 or 1966? No.
In 1999 Ford made the 35th Anniversary GT, and I love them, but I'd rather have a 2000 Cobra R, 2001 Bullitt, 2003 Mach 1, or 2004 Cobra. Cars get better as the bodystyle gets older.

NO....Give me a K-code 289 that came out that fall or a '65 shelby that came out in calendar year 1965. Bad thing about buying new cars is you can't keep up,they'll always keep one-upping you every year......buy a '99 cobra, then here comes the bullitt, buy a bullitt, here comes the Mach, buy a '01 cobra, here comes the '03 supercharged.
Early '65 mustangs(there were no '64 1/2) were just getting the fun started.....

Actually i like my 67 fastback better. But i was kind of thinking the 64 1/2 are still $$$. And I am just about ready to order a new 05 stang gt.

There are advantages and disadvantages, but in the end, it really doesn't make a whole lot of difference.
I own a 1965 Mustang, and it's usually the people that don't know much about Mustangs that will suggest "Don't you wish it was a 64.5 since they were the first?". Of course, I'll usually give the speech that there technically weren't 64.5's yadda yadda. But, it's just like EVERYTHING else, buy today, then something else comes along! You can't worry too much about it or you'll go nuts!!

It all depends on what you like, I have a 67 and would not trade it for any other year. I am also ordering the 2005, in my opinion Ford has done an excellent job re designing this car.

I'd usually rather have a first year car and then trade it in for a better model at the end of the cars run if I like the model. Nice to be one of the first driving around in a new car, before you see them all over the place, plus you get to own a car the entire length of it's model run.

Well, for what it is worth. I had a 65 in 67/68 which I bought from a body guy who put it back together (kind of). Wish I still had it and am wondering why it took me almost 40 years to finally get another one!!!! When I saw the 05, I knew it was NOW OR NEVER.

I've never seen very many Cobras around. Especially the 03 04 Cobras. Are they keeping them in the garage and rubbing them with a diaper every now and then? Gt's and v6's are at every stoplight. Sometimes I sit outside and count how many seconds before one comes by. It doesn't take long! lol
