I am trying to get a feel of how many of you who have taken delivery of your 05's that are having problems with the Shaker sound systems. I am basically to the point where I am just expecting mine to have problems with all the complaints everyone is having, so please poll!

I've had a few problems but nothing to really complain about. The way I look at it. I've got 2 years 50 weeks to do something about it.

I have only tried it for a couple of days, so I will refrain from voting until further testing. But so far, no problems. But I have yet to try MP3s.

Mine had lost power while I was in class today. Not sure if that was because of the strong storms and the alarm went off due to the thunder or what. But besides that has been working fine. Just now going to burn a mp3 cd, and will let u know if this works.

I think the CD player is very sensitive. It won't play some of my cds, but my other car's cd player will. It also skips a lot as well. I'm not sure if its just my system or not. Anyone else experiencing this issue as well.

So far it works fairly well. I find that Memorex cd's don't work that great. I have also tried some other mp3 cd's that work and then when I go back to the cd it says "bad disc" and spits it out.

Also found out, as per the manual, that you cannot use subfolders. Meaning if you create an mp3 cd and have a folder for the artist and a subfolder for each album it will not work. You can only have 1 folder per artist (or whatever) and that cannot contain any subfolders.

That's good info to know thanks. I am starting to feel as though I wasted my money on ordering the Shaker 1000...anyone have anything to make me feel better, like "I love it! It never skips and is loud as heck! Love the bass! It was worth it!" ???

worked for 2 weeks. it read commercial cd's, and my burnt cd with mp3. now it says bad disc, and spits it out like candies on Lucy's conveyor belt (how's that for a dated reference - - let's do a poll on who knows what I am talking about). My dealer has ordered a replacement unit.

most stock systems will do that, if your really worried about it, keep the stock amps and speakers, and just upgrade the head unit. For a couple hudred bucks(canadian) you can have a really nice unit, that will hardly ever skip. aftermarkets are made to play burnt cd's as well as MP3's, when compatible.

Memorex cdr's are the worst, they dont work on anything I have already either. Make sure you use high quality/high burn speed capeable CD's that are 'music reccomended' types. Fuji, Sony, Verbatim, etc. The cheapies have problems. That owners manual comes in handy sometimes too

I voted works great, but I have one alibi. I had a disk eject after being declared a Bad Disc. Nervously I reinserted it, and have had no further problems.

The solution for the subfolder people is to download a free copy of iTunes at www.apple.com It really is the best player, has access to the Music Store, and most importantly, can burn regular CDs from MP3s, or MP3 CDs.

Has anyone had this problem: when going back and forth to different tracks on the same cd sometimes it will just just keep skipping to the next track without playing. I tried going to the next/previous tracks but that doesn't seem to make it stop going through all the tracks. I actually have to take the cd out and re-insert it and then it plays fine.

So not a single one skipping or saying bad disc?

I've used only retail purchased CDs so far just cause of fear. I've seen some posts where the CD player won't work again after a non-compatible CD-R is inserted so I've not done that yet. Even with the commercially produced CDs, I have had a couple situations where the song just arbitrarily stops and it skips to the next song. It's quite surprising when it happens. Not a frequent thing, but probably has happened a half dozen times.

can't really comment that much on the HU, since I switched it out after a week. I will tell you that your money is *not* wasted, the head unit is replaceable for a couple hundred bones, and the rest of the components play well with others. I was a little concerned since Crutchfield was stating the subs wouldn't work with aftermarket receivers, but they work beautifuly with my new kenwood!
