Last night I was driving home it was pretty late and I came to a stop sign and the sprinklers were going so the street was all wet so I decided to burn out on the water. Well anyway the car started to shake violently and now the rear end seems loose like it dosent handel as well. could the rear wheels have moved out of alignment, or am I just imagining things. I kept on telling my self that it drove this way before. Well anyway I guess I will Check it in the morning. I looked at the wheels when I got home but I couldn't really see to well in the dark.

When you did this "burnout" did you have the traction control on? Did you do a "brake stand"? Shaking violently sounds like wheel hop but hard to say without more info.

the traction controll was off, it was like a brake stand kind of but its like the wheels didn't spin enough and they where catching on the road to much.

I think you just experience wheel hop. I did the same thing about 2 weeks after getting my car. Scared the heck out of me. I wouldn't expect there is anything wrong with your car.

I was at a stop light and decided to gun it. The wheels burned out and the car started shaking....I attributed it to the TCS being on, but I don't recall the Message Center telling me that. When I shifted into 2nd, the wheels chirped and then I was on my way.

Wheel hop, eh?

When it happened to me I didn't have TCS turned on. I'm not a technical wizard by any means. Others have discussed wheel hop in the GT Tech section. You might want to search in there for more information. However, if someone was standing outside your car and looking at the back tires when that happened to you, I bet the would have seen them "hopping" a bit. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that is why you see a lot of older cars with traction bars. When I had my 77 stang I hung out with a few guys that had done up some stangs, camero's, etc. A few had traction bars because if not they experienced the same thing and we could actually see the tires quickly lifting off the ground.
