Airbag malfunction light remaining on!

I few days ago, the airbag malfunction light in the instrument cluster came on. On startup, it will flash repeatedly for a few seconds, and then remains on steady. I took it to the dealership. 24 hours later, they said it was ready. They said that the problem was traced to a loose connector under the driver's seat to the side airbag. I didn't even get to the stoplight until it came back on! Back to the dealership, another 24 hours and it was ready again. This time they said they "readjusted and checked for loose connections again". The service manager drove it for about 30 miles, and it stayed off. I drove it for about 50 miles today, and now its back on. Has anyone else had a problem similar to this? I would get under the drivers seat and wiggle the connectors myself, but I don't want to screw with the wrong thing and set the airbag off!

i had this problem. i took mine to my local ford dealer and they wrapped the airbag sensor in tin foil. they claim mine was coming on because of the radar at luke air base. cause we drive by the huge radar everyday. but ever since they put tin foil around it, it hasnt come on since.

I got this fixed by my dealership and never had the problem happen again.

Here's an update....after the third trip to the dealer this week, they are going to order a new side airbag unit for the drivers side. They still believe the problem is in the connector under the seat, but since it is hardwired to the airbag assembly, the only way to replace it is to change out the entire side airbag......
