Aftermarket TPMS bands
I just puchased a set of 4 aftermarket TPMS sensor bands from A.M. Basically a really big hose clamp For those of you who use these or something similar, have you had any problems with them loosening inside the wheel after driving a few hundred/thousand miles?? It seems as if the bolt would loosen from vibration....hopefully not. Does anyone here have issues with these bands?? Your insight would be appreciated. thanks.

well...
when I changed my wheels, the sensors where in the new wheel, but they were put wrong 2 times, and got loose inside, making the drive a pain in the...
if they get loose on the front wheels you'll feel it even at 35mph
what the people form the tire place finally did was putting double sided sticky rubber between the sensors and the wheel, and tighten up the band as much as they could.
still, it is a piece of crap system, ford should use the ones on the rubber air cap instead.
as of right now, I dont even know if they still work since some have been loose for a day or so...
Ford: put the sensors right behind the air caps...!!

If you have the 17s and want to go 18s and get the Ford 18s, do they come with that stuff or do you have to get it seprately? Like say I went to a dealer and bought the 18" polished or something.

The bands are extra. And Ford wants about $65. PER band, so thats $65X4=$260 just for the stupid bands. And yeah, I did it once, but never again. I puchased 4 aftermarket bands through a vendor this time and all 4 cost what just 1 Ford band cost. Oh and BTW, even if you were going to purchase the same size rims as your stock rims, you will still need replacement bands....thats how I got caught. I figured an easy switch over right....ha, the joke was on me.

so far no problem with my bands, although i haven't driven "thousands" of miles yet.
i too wish ford had used the tire pressure valve/monitor but i have heard that these aren't intended to be switched over to other wheels because the rubber area are easily damaged. something along the same line that you aren't supposed to re-use the valve stems on another rim. idk if that is true, but i heard it somewhere. still, ford's system is pretty cheapy.

Does any aftermarket vendor make compatible sensors?
I see 'slightly used' ones on ebay for $100/4 pretty regular.
What about the training tool? Anyone know if the one included with the 08 trucks will work on the mustang?
