Thumbs up

I am interested in purchasing an aftermarket system and have been looking at the Viper 791XV. The prices are surprisingly low...dropped to around $200 from $500. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this system. Since I am not commited to Viper I am also interested to see if anyone has any suggestions on a better security system. The Viper 791XV is a responder (not a touch start because i have a manual) as well which seems useful, if there are others like this one which you think are better please let me know.

Here is a picture of the Viper system

Would anyone have an idea, how much discount on insurance do we get for having lojack on the car?
Also, I read somewhere that the lojack system costs about 700 bucks, does that sound right???

I agree with NewPony, LoJack Security Systems are def a good system out on the market, Viper however, is not the best. Almost every riceburner at my school has that Viper system and its sooooo annoying, its very sensative and go's off whenever. People have told me that they regret paying 250-300 for the Viper system. However, with the LoJack System, I have gotten appraisals for the system and the insurance deduction it gave them..... I would def go with the LoJack System

I heard of some alarm systems that allow remote start on manual car as long as it is in neutral with parking brake on.

To my knowledge Viper, python, clifford are all made be direct electroncis all three companys have same product line with different numbers. Clifford being the most expansive around my area as far as quotes. I like the 2 way systems that confirmes what is happening to your car up the a 1/4 mile away. For around $450 installed with window and trunk feartures and remote start for manual

Viper, python, and clifford Maxtix are basically the same, Clifford is a different line, as far as the sensitivity..the installer should have set that appropriately. If you have any other questions about the directed products let me know...i have a little insight here. B)
