After five months of waiting my car as of 4/4/05 is on a convoy carrier. The dealer says it is scheduled for delivery on 4/18/05. That's a long time to take a one day long road trip. Does anybody have any knowledge of this situation? How many stops can there be for this truck? Does the car change trucks like a UPS package?

Make it four! I'm in Williamsburg VA and as of 4/5 shipped via convoy carrier. Dealer ETA 4/18. This will be the longest wait of my life....but hey, were all in the same boat... or least railcar.

Mine was shipped by convoy as of 4/1. Dealer is giving me an ETA of 4/9 to 4/12, but I'm all the way down in South Florida. At least it's finally shipped only 6 weeks after being built.

I'd say you will probably have your new ride by tax day 4/15.

After you get her, the thoughts of the long wait will melt away with the miles.

Happy summer driving! :drive:

sounds like that truck has alot of stops to make no wonder it takes two weeks. It looks like to me that the week of the 18th is a worse case scenario. Let's all hope for the end of this week.

The process usually is on a convoy carrier first, then to a yard, then loaded to a rail car, then unloaded to the yard, then put on a convoy carrier. So yours probably just starting, will be on a rail car, then unloaded at yard, then on a truck to dealer. Mine took a month from shipped on convoy carrier, supposedly due to rail car issues, not having enough etc. so it sat in a yard for two weeks. Hopefully there catching up with cars. Hope you get it soon.

Well Mine took 9 days from the status of Shipped Convoy until it arrived at dealer. Now the car is in Minneapolis and I am in the Dominican Republic until next Friday. It's going to be a long week.

FYI - I think the status shipped by convoy on x/x means that ford turned it over to the trucking company on that date to be shipped. The car may not leave the shipping lot until days later.
