adding sirius

I am getting conflicting reports and figured someone here is likely smarter than the dealer.

I want to add the Sirius radio to my car (07 with shaker 500). The car does not have the SAT button, but it does have the AUX button. Since I don’t want the wires from my old unit lying around I figured the ford install would surely be cleaner, but the first parts guy I talked to told me that the radio must have the SAT button in order to get the Sirius installed. This didn’t sound right to me.

Has anyone added it after purchase (preferably the Ford kit) ?

Yes, I added the ford unit from Kevin on my Shaker 500 and it just has the Aux button. I did the install myself and it turned out to be easy and very clean because everything I needed came with the unit from KC.
