Angry Add me to the "hurt pony" list

Last night I was heading home from dinner, I exited the freeway and got ready to make a left. The guy in front of me makes the left turn and goes into the opposing traffic lane and then stops. He is sitting there and I am wondering WTF but make my left turn into the correct lane and start to pass him on his right side. Remember he is on the wrong side of the road!

As I am passing him I hear him gun his engine and I thought, "wow, this dude wants to race me? What's wrong with him? He's crazy!" As soon as I finished that thought, WHAM! He sideswipes me on the drivers side!

Remember he is still on the wrong side of the road. The blow sent my car to the right, and this crazy dude starts trying to turn around in the middle of the road (I think he was planning on getting away) but instead plows straight in to oncoming traffic, T-boning a Jeep, and smashing a Honda. Crazy dude then smashes into the overpass wall and stops.

Crazy dude is down for the count, airbags deployed, he's just laying there in his car passed out. The Jeep and Honda drivers are OK, we are standing around waiting for the cops, and I am ****ed! ("...Shouldn't we see if the guy is OK? NO, f**k that dude, this is all his fault! Wait for the paramedics to handle it!")

Once the paramedics arrive the guy starts to come around and he begins to act like a raving lunatic on PCP - it takes firemen, paramedics, and cops to hold this guy down long enough to strap him in to haul him off. Unfortunately I could not kick him in the face for his stupidity since there were so many cops around...

All told I guess I am pretty fortunate, my damage appears to be a thrashed Fanblade, 18" tire, drivers side door and quarter panel are munched. Shouldn't be too difficult to fix IMHO, I'm a lot better off than the Jeep and Honda drivers, their cars appeared to be totaled.

I was going to go to the body shop anyways to get my new GT500 spoiler and GT/CS side scoops painted, looks like this is an opportunity to make lemonade out of the lemon I got dealt and do the body mods at the same time as the repairs!

Here are pix of my hurt Pony, and the s**t head that caused it all... Stupid barstard...

Wow, that's insane! I hope that guy had insurance. What was wrong with him anyway? Drugs?

Luckily you have a lot of witnesses and your car wasn't totalled. It looks like it can be fixed pretty quickly at the body shop.

Unbelievable...I feel for you. I would want to /////out of that guy. I just hope he has insurance. My guess is he will say you caused it some how. Most people around here always blame the other when an accident happens. No one admitts to it. What kind of World do we live in.

Keep us update, you know it usually takes several day to determine if you are injured. You never know you may have some neck, back pain today, tomorrow...Just a thought...Glad you are not seriously hurt. I have been in several accidents, the most recent last October and I was nearly killed...Health is #1 always...

start thinking

Now is the perfect time to find a shop that will work with you. I got egged and had my shop paint the Roush rear wing and louvers and color match my mirrors for an extra $200.00 For a little more that the factory replacment you can get what you want. Good luck.

That sucks! No way can that idiot claim it wasn't his fault, it would be at least 3 to 1 in your favor. Surprised you and the other drivers didn't haul him out and get your licks in before the cops arrived - not like he'd know anyway. Well, hope you get 'er fixed soon.

The main thing is that you are not hurt too bad. This kinda stuff can be life changing- for the worse. Hopefully they can repair your car to new condition.
And the weird thing? Last night I got almost the same exact damage as you did. Some woman ignored the yield sign and merged into my door and quater panel. At least she was sane though.
So we spent the next hour in front of the topless bar with the police...

Glad to see your feeling fine. Just don't ignore aches and pains, if you start to hurt get checked out. You car doesn't look like it will be hard to fix, I won't say it doesn't look bad because thats not something I feel I can say; afterall it's your car only your opinion of how "bad" it is counts. Either way I know how much this sucks (just had an accident my self last month) still unlike mine this one was clearly not your fault, all you did was try to get away from that a-hole. I believe you also have a right to know what the hell was wrong with him, the police should be able to tell you. I wish you all the best through this process, and hope that you remain OK in the days that follow.
