Tampa to Islamorada and back: 860 miles (including Sunday's excursion to punch 130MPH holes in the air)
Tolls incurred: ~$20
Fuel used: 40 gallons
Average MPG for the whole trip: 21.5
Going ballz to the wall (repeatedly) with 5 other fools on Hwy 27 : PRICELESS!

Edit - the events on 9/9 were in no way connected with anything having to do with the 9/11 cruise!

Someone has got to post some pics of that sight...

On Friday night I tried to talk the wife into driving down REAL early Saturday morning, but I couldn't convice her the 5 hour drive before the meet-up was worth it...HA

Show me some sweet pics to convince her for next year!!

Heck yeah Gary - it was great to hang with you guys when we crossed paths

Outback for dinner?? what Rum runners and Corona didn't cover it for you?

I am sure you checked SFS picture threads - I grabbed any of cars I recognized and there were more than a few of yours - at least one cruising south on the highway to the Keys

We'll get some more vids at that road of yours and I'll keep you posted on when my brother is running Bullitt - the engine is in and she is good to go

Well next year, barring another deployment, I would love to make it down and join you guys for this. I love causes like this and it sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe I can convince Scothew and Brad to come as well.

[I'll be getting pictures and such up by this weekend]

For the second year in a row, the representative from the 911 families foundation in NY flew down to say a few words in person
